Karen was raised in the west San Fernando Valley, California, but she moved to Oregon after completing her graduate degree in counseling psychology. After living in Oregon for a few years, Karen decided to complete a nursing degree and work as an RN. Karen’s health care career has focused upon work with mentally ill and geriatric populations. Karen worked as a nurse in home health, in-home care, in clinics and assisted living facilities, as well as doing care coordination for Medicaid patients in a large HMO. Karen thinks working at Raleigh Hills Assisted Living is one of the most enjoyable nursing jobs she has had in her nursing career.
Karen also maintains a psychotherapy practice in Beaverton. Karen has now spent more than half of her life in Oregon, where she enjoys the trees, the rain, gardening, hiking, her two dogs, photography, and most of all, playing and singing music with friends.
